Exercise 11

Ukraine is the biggest country in Europe with the area of 603.700 km². However, despite being almost twice as big as Germany, which has an area of 357.000 km², it has only half of its population – 45 million. Some of the reasons for such a low number are economic instability and unemployment. The issue can be solved by creating more jobs especially in rural areas. If people had a financial security in terms of a stable income, they would consider having more children. Consequently, the increase in population could also lead to the improvement of economic situation of the country.
